District Wharf - Menorah Perspective.jpg

District Wharf Menorah

A design proposal for the centerpiece of the D.C. District Wharf’s December 2017 “First Night of Hanukkah Celebration”. Aligning with the Wharf’s industrial aesthetic, the menorah would be comprised of weathered hot rolled mild steel square tubes and thin LED bulbs set in brushed bronze sockets. Conceptually, it follows the geometry of the Star of David, notably in plan view as its four legs and two arms roughly follow the path of all six of the Star’s points. Accentuating this reference, the arms each take three turns out from the central shaft.
