procession of the souls
A collaborative design-build project created as part of the Catholic University of American School of Architecture and Planning’s “Spirit of Place” program in 2015 coordinated by architect Travis Price. Designed from winter to spring of that year and constructed over the course of two weeks in June and July, this memorial, located in Swinford, County Mayo, Ireland, honors unidentified members of that community who perished during the Great Famine of 1845 to 1852 as well as the sacrifices of local heroes such as the compassionate Dr. Michael Henry.
